Thattadavu Thaiyya Thai Steps 7,8 - Bharatanatyam 1st Adavu | Natyakriya Episode 07

Continuing on our Thattadavu series of steps, let's learn steps 7 & 8 today. Both these steps are slightly different than the previous 6 steps.

Here is the Video Tutorial -

TO do the 7th step -
  1. Assume the Aramandi Position. It is important to maintain this position throughout the step.
  2. When you're doing the right side, hit right leg 3 times - switch and hit the left leg on the 4th count - and switch and hit the right leg again 3 times (3+1+3 = 7). Do the same for left side.
  3. The way to lift each leg is to imagine that your heels are touching your behind. Lift as much as possible and strike the leg down on the floor.
  4. Repeat the same in 3 speeds
